Help To Save Your Marriage If You Are A Victim Of A Cheating Spouse

Help to save your marriage if you are a victim of a cheating spouse.
Here are  3 steps to prevent further erosion of an already compromised relationship.

If you have decided that you want to save your marriage and avoid divorce then you must:

  1. Avoid Toxic Communications( both with and about your spouse)
  2. Don’t be too negative
  3. And stand up for yourself

While it might be natural to want to say angry, spiteful and contemptuous words to your cheating spouse and try to hurt him as much as he has hurt you through his affair, it will not be constructive in helping you save your marriage.

As well, you should not belittle or denigrate your spouse to family and friends; remember that you have decided that you want to save your marriage and stay with them!

It will not be good for your self-esteem if you shame your spouse in front of others  and then decide to continue to build a life with them.

Be hurt and as angry as you need to be and certainly share these emotions with your spouse; but do so in a private space and a rational and respectful way that will lead to a better understanding of what went wrong in the marriage and how to fix it and move on together.

Caution: Do not allow your cheating spouse to blame you for their affair! That decision and lapse of judgement was theirs and theirs alone!
